Hotel specialists are trained in all departments of the hotel. They are all-rounders and look after guests from arrival to departure.

Core tasks are reservations and reception. They also receive thorough training in food & beverage (service and kitchen), housekeeping (room design and maintenance) and marketing. In this way, hotel specialists oversee the interfaces between the departments and ensure that the quality is right everywhere. Professional communication with guests is a common thread running through their activities, whether in personal sales or advisory talks, at check-in or via digital channels.

Advancement opportunities range from department manager to hotel director or independent hotelier.

High school diploma:

A specific high school diploma is not required.

However, a Secondary school leaving certificate or Abitur is an advantage.


3-year training, shortening possible

Training location:

Training in the company and at vocational school (block instruction)

Exam structure:

Stretched final examination – New: no practical service examination!

Training content:
